1- Download JDK

You should check that the operating system is 32bit or 64bit, to download the appropriate JDK.

Enter the directory where the JDK will be installed, for example:

  • C:\DevPrograms\Java\jdk1.8.0_45\

After JDK installed, the installer will ask you position the JRE will be installed. Here I select:

  • C:\DevPrograms\Java\jre.8.0_45\

Java is installed successfully.

The results you get 2 directories:

3- Configure environment variable for Java

Next, we configure environment variable for Java. It is not mandatory, but if your computer install multiple versions of Java, it is necessary to configure to determine what the default java version being used.

If you using Window Vista or Window 7:

From the Desktop, right-click the Computer icon and select Properties.

Click New to create a new environment variable named JAVA_HOME.

Enter the path to the JDK directory.

  • Variable name: JAVA_HOME
  • Variable value: C:\DevPrograms\Java\jdk1.8.0_45

Next modify the environment variable path

Add to front of path:

  • %JAVA_HOME%\bin;

You have successfully installed java.
